Mark4 accepts the apology like a mature adult when most people would laugh at yoda and ghar for being sorry. I got accused of hacking today on BNET in NH in a Z vs Z.
I did a 3 hatch fast lings slow tech to mutas. My overlord was over this guys base the whole game. He was teching to hive with 6 sunkens as his only defense. So I attack him with 4 controlled groups of fast lings. Raped his main, and he says that I am a fucking hacker and that he used his hack detect on me.
ROFL I couldn't believe it. I took screenshots so I should post my own BR on this. But to the BR Mark4 for playing in a game you did a great job with the details. Mark4 having details? Who would have thought.

because of the abundance of hackers out there, normal people gets accused everyday..
today, i got accused of hacking... as many of you know, i use netzero and they frequenly lag...
so, like ALWAYS, i lagged in game... i lagged a lot in the beginning, but it settled.. it was doing fine for a while for around 10 minutes, and i was about to get attacked by suprerior number...
sure, there was no telling who would win.. i would prolly needed to be very fortunate.. cause i had 7 or 8 speedy zealots with 2 goons and a zealot on queue and he attacked with around 8 goons....
the attack force was IN TRANSIT.. the same force that had previously DEMOLISHED my "attack" of 4 zealots and a probe...
then, i started to lag... no, the lag sign didn't pop up.. it just lagged...
it could have been me, it could have been the obs, it could have been thee combination of both..
but he just decided to leave the game and accuse me of "hacking" by claiming that i CREATED lag because i thought i was losing....
it truly sucks and makes one angry to be accused of someething one has not... i tried to tell him that i didn't lag on purpose, but he just laughed at me and publicly announced that i was a lagger and possibly a hacker..
oh well, just another day at NH, eh??

Why do ppl always ask for screenshots to check hacking? It's fairly common knowledge that the most popular working 1.07 hack has instant ON-OFF keypresses..... simply pressing insert/home makes you screenshot-ready.

i wouldnt know ladida but im pretty sure that once a hack is turned off the minimap still has all of the hacked area in fog-of-war, even if the hack is turned off it's still pretty obvious that someone has been hacking, i shall give an example to demonstrate. to do this i shall need names, for all intensive purposes lets use, ooohhh i dont know, hows about yoda and mark, ok 10 minutes into the game yoda starts to suspect that mark could be hacking, he asks for a screenshot to be taken, mark obliges and takes the screen shot, lets say mark was hacking he would then turn off his hack before taking the screenie, he would send the screenshot and yoda would see the minimap has been completley revealed and had up to the minute info on yoda's base until the screenie, everything would have been revealed. yoda would then say &^&^%$F*(&^&*S&*^^&%%$C*(^&*&^$%^% etc....
if ur playing a game u wont scout every single little inch of the map, especially if its so early on, bcz u wont have to neseccary units, buildings.
i hope this wasnt to confusing, it probably was but anyways a little disclaimer needed: all names used are purely fictional and any resemblences are purley coinidental.

I wonder whether a) the people obs-ing/playing would have apologized, and b) more importantly, whether people here in the community would have supported you. Ladida brings up an interesting point, since he seems to be an expert on using map hacks. (grin) Apparently you can just press a 'boss key' and it turns the maphack off instantly.
I always try to take a print screen OF THEM ASKING FOR IT , as Mark4 did here, so that the other guy can actually see what HE typed on there as proof.
Of course, last time this happened, I had already pretty much swept the entire map with observers, so it really didn't prove anything... heh
Shock, like I say, I was AFK pretty much the whole game (as I almost always am when I am obsing a game), the accusation had already been made by the time I got done stuffing my fat face and sat back down to the computer.
And, I'm sorry, asking someone for a screen shot is the same thing as accusing them, in my book. Like I say, I didn't see most of the actual game, so I can't really vouch as to whether or not I would have made the same accusation (except to say that I've never actually asked anyone for a screenshot, I feel that I am a competent enough player that I should be able to beat the average map hacker and that if I lose, even to a hacker, I just flat-out sucked.)
So in these 'lucky scouting' breaks, you have to ask, would there be any strategic value in actually doing these things if the guy didn't hack? I can see the strategic value of sending a Wraith to the island immediately. It saves comsat energy and it scouts the island for enemy expansions. And many TvZ strat guides I've read advocate doing exactly this for the possible chance of a stray OL kill. And if Yoda WAS going to try to take an island, chances are that probably would have been the island he would have tried to take - either way it was still a 50/50 guess. As for the Marine finding the expansion, I regularly patrol a small unit at each unoccupied main, patrolling it from the main to the mineral only and back, thus covering 2, or even 3 expansion spots for a very small mineral cost. I'm not very aggressive about attacking a guy's main, but I am very aggressive in terms of expansion denial. And if I fly over something worthwhile with an observer, and then I go attack it, if I have the micro time available, I will fly the observer around in a conspicuous pattern over the battle site just so the enemy can see the shimmer and know I did, in fact, have an observer there. And when I play Protoss, I usually have 1-2 DOZEN observers patrolling the map at any given time.
Of course, this is easy to say because this is Mark4 we're talking about. Had it been some random pubbie newbie nobody, like we thought it was, I probably would have had some suspicions as to whether or not that player would have been smart enough to do these kinds of things. But I've only ever actually accused one player of hacking to his face, and that's because he accidentally gave me allied vision and I watched him come all the way across the map (hunters, from lower left to 3:00) and start offensive-bunkering me without having actually seen my base.
So who knows. I guess this'll give us something to laugh about a few months from now.
