| Heh SC64 must b pretty weird in multi, it would be nice to have seperate tvs for it but i don't think u can do that. |

I'm sorry, but I don't know if I could handle SC on 64. The controller would be so hard to use, especially with micro.
Curious, how does it handle (If it does at all) stuff like hotkeys/control groups, things you need lots-o keys for.
You also mentioned it got laggy, that is total crap. N64 should be very ashamed of themselves, I don't think I've ever seen a good RTS on a console.

| I'm sure the fight was good and all, but as soon as I saw N64 I just stopped. For one thing, if you have the comp SC game, why the hell go out and buy the console version? And for that matter, why even try to BR it? How would you get pictures? Polaroid and scanner, I'm sorry, but no. RTS and mulitplayer console do not mix. |

If this was more of a analyzation of SC64, as Woody proposed, it would be better, but for now, I'm not going to bother commenting fully.

I have to agree with exception on this one. RTS and Console dont mix. And SC multi player will always be better than playing on a split screen where u can look at your oppoints base and then counter. But some people forget how to do the same thing when playing on the computer, its called SCOUTING!

That was hilarious. I think it really makes it blatantly obvious how SC64 sucks compared to the computer game. Of course, we pretty much expected it would, right?
The question I have is -- if there was no computer game SC to compare to, would SC64 by itself pass marginally as a game? Is it still playable even though it sucks compared to the computer game version?
No? Heh, I agree :-).
BTW - When we used to play Goldeneye on N64, we'd stick a posterboard down the middle of the screen in 2on2 and have partners on each side so that people couldn't peek over at each other.

LOLOLOLOLOLOL, That is so freakin old school lol.
Goldeneye was probably one of the most fun Multi games on a console i have ever played. I actually was probably outta the 1% of people who had multi-link for the PSX played red alert with my friend. he'd bring his tv over and we would go at it all night (Not what your thinking you perverts) It was loads of fun. And nothing beats goldeneye 64 2on2 action. It's just so fun to lay proximity mines all over the place and hide in a corner :))))) I used to use the bug to play em in mid air. That was cool. Ah the memories ;)

Heh, the report was interesting due to the fact that even though the writing wasn't great, it gave a clear picture of just how much sc64 sucks (compared to PC).
I don't know if that's what the author was intending or not, but for that reason alone, I give this report a 3.
Cheers,

Although I have never played the full version of SC64 (i played a beta at E3), I am actually somewhat impressed with SC64. Sure the game blows donkey nads compared to the PC version and the thought of goon dancing or cloning with the N64 analog controller makes me wince but...
It's actually a testament to the designers that they managed to fit both single player campaigns on a 256 megabit cart (no voices or FMV tho).
Although the N64 controller sucks compared to keyboard/mouse, they did an admirable job of converting the complex mouse controls to a 9 button controller. They even have hotkey groupings (up to 18 units per group too) albeit a somewhat limited number of em. There's also a nifty menu feature that allows you to access upgrades without having to actually select the building first.
Not that i would ever buy this game (i already have 2 copies of BW for some strange reason), it would perfect for the 'unenlightened' strategy gamer (read: those w/o SC or a computer :P).
The split screen action would probably lend itself to team comp stomp games more than 1v1 action tho...
bleah
btw, this report was mediocre at best.

vicious, i used to do the red alert thing with my friends too:)
dude that game is aweosme as hell
the graphics are fine, they added some nifty effects, and the zoomed-in mode makes it easier to manage units.
it does get a little slowed down in like 200vs200 tank battles, but thats supposed to happen!
that game owns for psx:) |

oh yeah dune for PSX was awesome, yes
my brother and i used to start playing after school (the final mission) but we would have to leave to go to our dads like an hour later.. SO, we would pause the game, and put turn the TV off, and keep the sega there, not turned off!
surprisingly, after we came home 5 hours later, it WOULD STILL BE PAUSED! :D so we completed the super longass missions like that
heh, that game owns |

| I've played SC64 at my friends house for a 1 hour game. The AI is terrible, the only good thing is when you tell someone to go somewhere it's atomaticly the attack command unless it's on your/allies units. Heh, when I finally finnished I went to the other room where they were playing on the computer. My eyes felt so much better, no more squinting (sp??) to see my units and throwing my controler on the groud when I couldn't find the right button. RTS should stick to the computer, i don't even know why Blizzard bothered to covert it to the 64. |

N64 SC >>> PC SC
Because if you lose, you can hit your opponent with the controller!
