No,that was not a maynard transfer, as I, the maaynard transfer master should know, what he did involved a highly difficult maneuver know as the " Unknown Transfer " where you transfer drones/probes/SCVs from an expansion/main that is under attack to another expansion
But I do agree with ChaosCalvin, WE WANT TO SEE MORE MAYNARD TRANSFERS

As promised (threatened?) I'm doing my new big comments.
Writing: Top notch as always Dr.Z. I've always liked your BR's. The style to me is entertaining, yet sophistocated. I like it. The games were easy to follow (especially the first one, but it wasn't really very long...) and there were no gay grammar errors. Always a pleasure to read.
Images: Sharp, clear, although the first animation seemed to have some chunk in it. I think that was how you saved/compressed it though, and it wasnt like any detail was lost. Maybe a little more action in the pics, because I like the explosions. A lot. I really liked how simple yet effective your pics were. They aren't all overpowering, but they get the point across, and you don't waste them. I especially liked the tank muzzle flare/robofac tank shot hit combo. Nice. And the title for the players names, that was super cool as well.
Appearance: I loved the dark blue background. IMHO it looks better than white on black, yet it is just as easy to read. Borders around the images looked good, and the formatting around paragraphs was a nice touch (the indents).
Overall: Perhaps a little short, but having 2 games made up for it. You're one of the best Dr.Z. If you don't make HOF sometime... well, you'd better. For the sake of my enjoyment, keep it up.

| Question - wouldn't cannons at the ramps have helped P's expansions in game 2? It forces T to either get dropships or tank push up the ramps. A cannon next to the mineral line would have helped tremendously against vulture raids. I'm no PvT expert, and I'm generally anti-cannon, but I usually have a cannon or two guarding each expansion, and maybe some gates at each too to produce mobiles. I understand that Sluggy was hurting from the gully siege, perhaps that explains the lack of attentiveness to the expansions? |

I read this on Tao. It seems to load faster than BR.com. This was a great report, although minimal mistakes are in the Tao version, but those can be fixed (believe me my Tao BR was sort of DuDeY's guinea pig).

Shock: Yeh, I was hurting bad from "the gay pit" siege. The game pace was so fast that I had to choose getting either:My robo/citadel tech back or getting one of those and a forge. I needed shuttles for my cliffs(which I never got in time) and high templar/dark templar to be able to hang with tanks.
Maynard is so aggressive that it forces you to click super fast or die. He is a little outta my league but I felt that there wasn't any time where I felt like I was being dominated(cept after lurkers started dropping in the ZvT that was well......raw?).
I'd also like to say that in the first game I had transporting for ovies researched I just couldn't get my f'in lurkers around. So.....aggressive......Maybe I coulda dropped 2 outta my base and circled them around to my waiting ovie at his base. Oh and btw.....Nice report Dr.Z you got skillz =[

DrZ Great stuff. It must have been cool to watch Maynard at work. He is truly one of the best. Everything was perfect except the game. Not to impune the skill of Sluggy but Maynard kinda beat him down. Your layout and format is just awesome, but the game....I just can't give it a 9.

I love watching great players do their thing and you caught every last detail. Hiding marines behind minerals, leaving mines at the 3:00 ramp, etc. etc. It felt like I was right there watching the game.
Of course, the layout was beautiful as well.

Seeing as how I felt us writers were "encouraged" to post these Tao/i2e2 reports both here and at the Tao site, and that I actually somewhat give a rats ass about my lifetime rating now, Fox^1 had made it clear I will only post up truly "epic" games here.
For any "so-so" games games I watch for the tourney (probably any that Maynard is in, since he will beat down his opponents) I will only post up at the Tao site.

There are a very large number of reporters who not only report shitty games, but also do a shitty job of it. Sometimes, you do report shitty games (like when you're forced to cuz of a tourney) but they always turn out nice. If two nines and an eight isn't high enough for you, my god man, ease up! What I'm trying to say is, your br skills make up for whatever the quality of the game you report. So don't let that stop you.

Great work doc.. reading these br's of such great players is a good way to improve my own newbie skills, but only when you do such a great job of getting thier skills across. You have an uncanny ability to make us all realise how much better Mayard and Sluggy are without gushing. GW!
BTW, I thought Sluggy played a great game in the PvT. With a little more luck, he may have had templar, which woulda messed up the pit push, which may have changed the outcome of the game. And TvZ on Temple is just cheap. Nobody except maybe Grrr could beat Maynard with Zerg on Temple! |
