I don't know about corsairs and all that (I only have vanilla SC). But I've taken down massed carriers with 3/3 hydra under a dark swarm, with the interceptors/carriers ensnared and carriers plagued. It takes micro but it's possible.
Of course, things get interesting if the toss player brings templar/reavers/lots with them to engage your units as well. (it's very hard to broodling templar if you can't click them) But there are counters to counters - massed hydra will take on nearly anything if you manage them properly. | | #3 Bob the Newt[1155] | | | Carriers are great units, problem is, newbies love them and dont know how to support them. They'll always go mono carrier with maybe an arb and observer. I you don't get it, get a life | | #5 ShadowCrown[1188] | | | This reminds me of a game I played where a friend of mine defeated 6-8 carriers with around 24 marines with medic support. This he used as his defense...he stimmed the marines and killed all the interceptors with the marines, medics working well enough to keep them alive. The thing is, this opponent attacked with the carriers the same spot like 4 times, each time refilling the carriers, each time inflicting maybe 2 casualties. After each of these attacks, my partner would kill 1 or 2 carriers with wraiths, while taking no casualties from the empty carriers. |
