Nothing impressive in here (maybe depots and goliaths andthat drop thingie). But at the time the terr expands i can have 3 exps running already. I only need 5 Goons for containment and no heavy metal can do anything about it until the first tanks are there. And after those Goonz I go expand to the other mains = no cliff sieging. And from then on I can simply macro any terr over.
Yes, and Many tanks vs many goons is much better for terra then some tanks vs some goonz due to splash, so this early push wouldn't work.
Ah yes: I own 3 separate Bases, so it doesn't mater if u tank push 1 of them. |

| Interesting mix of replies, but really, anyone who says "p>t no matter what" is a moron. But I really hate going into arguments about this. Half you people probably didn't even read the guide after you saw terran vs protoss. And I don't know what the deal with heartcutter is...I didn't know he made a heavy metal guide, but he did not originate heavy metal. This is an improvement on agent911's strategy. He truly created this strategy using it in season 2. Anyhow, thx for reading everyone who actually read. |

I have a word of advice, though -- and I say this over and over again -- but do consider how you react to other people's posts and objections. You ALWAYS come down really hard on people whenever they disagree with you, often implying that your skill level is so much greater than theirs, etc., blah blah. I think you're a solid player and you have good strats, but you'll lose respect from people if you keep doing this.
I think, e.g., that people do have legitimate suspicions about your intent for posting this. It *is* just ripped off your strat page, why not just upload your whole strat guide to battlereports.com with links back to your site, as you did with this one? And remember that [e]Scipio basically made it very clear from his posts on b.net that he's willing to do just about ANYTHING, including repeated spamming and flaming innocent folks undeservedly etc., to get people to go to his strat site. It makes me wonder if you guys get paid everytime someone clicks on the site or something.
Given that, and given the overwhelmingly negative response that people have had to [e]Scipio and his antics, I think it bears serious consideration in terms of how you present yourself and your strat page on Starcraft communities. It's sorta like if my brother was a mass murderer, then I unjustifiably but unfortunately would have to bear his slandered reputation and would have to make sure I didn't say ANYTHING that would be construed to be similar to him, such as talking about weapons or making jokes about killing people or even watching violent cartoons. Unfortunately -- and I feel bad for you about this -- your [e] clan, and your strat page, have inhereted a very very poor reputation from [e]Scipio. It means to see whether you can make people forget about that through your own spotless example, or whether you just remind everyone of [e]Scipio by flaming people and constantly advertising your strat guide. Everytime you flame someone, I shudder because it reminds me of [e]Scipio, especially because the way you guys flame is similar (lots of ego, lots of accusations like "You probably didn't even read the guide", but you at least avoid all the blatant swearing).
I think the TvP guide you wrote was GREAT, don't doubt that. But I'm just a little questionable about your intent since you basically just ripped it off your strat guide. Heartcutter wrote his TvP guide here because he has no strat page and no ulterior motive could be misconstrued, so people don't accuse him of underlying intentions. But you could conceivably just start posting pages from your strat guide here... that doesn't mean your strats are stupid or not worth reading or unsound, but it will make people start wondering what the underlying motive is.
Battlereports.com is primarily for battle reports. It is not for people to start posting random pages from their strat guide here. I think a more decent way to handle this would be to ask Mark4 to put a link to your page so that people can go there and read it if they want.

-protoss <b>IS</b> better than terran. any good toss that plays a good terran will win 75% of the time. if you want, i'll 1v1 you pvt. chances are i will win.
ugh, for the love of god, why do poeple still say PvT is balanced, or in the favor of terran? it is not fair. i havn't lost a pvt in 2 months.

To #23 - No, you can't contain a Toss player going goon containment, it's a race to see who gets to whose choke first and the goons will always get to the Terran choke before the vultures can get out and mine. If you tweak the timing just a *bit* or you're able to delay (e.g. offensive gas the Toss player), then sure the Terran player will contain first and will win. I'm not sure if [e]Ken mentioned this in his BR, but "timing is everything" and that's why Toss beats Terran these days. Anyway, we can talk a lot more about this on any of the forums... point is that this is supposed to be battlereports.com for discussing battle reports, not some general forum or place for people to advertise their strat pages, so I'd be happy to respond in more detail if you post on one of the SC forums with the same comment.

Protoss DOES own Terran, but not much. The only imbalances in my mind are the insane goon range and gayweb. Plus, all around, all of the protoss in general are better than all of the terran in general. I think (yeah im ripping this off from game gurus) that SCV speed should be increased 25%, goon range should go down 1 with range, and that gayweb can be neutralized by EMP.
On a side note, I usually can contain Protoss, but I have to, like shockwave said, do an offensive refinery. Usually this is pretty easy if you scout early, like at 6th or 7th SCV, but its still hard. |

Spine - I don't mind discussing strategy here at all. I just think that the way the comments section is laid out tends to lead to a poor interface for the kind of thread-related discussion that forums are suitable for (I mean, look at us now, I have to try to reply to your post and hope that you notice this :-b ). What I'm saying is that comments are normally well handled if the battle report is actually a battle report, because the strat remarks tend to be limited in nature and specifically relate to the game. But otherwise, if we want to talk about HM, then it's easier done on a forum versus in a battlereports page.
Again, I don't think any of the site admins will object to us discussing strats, I'm just saying that this ain't the ideal format to be discussing it under. I realize that I didn't make that totally clear in my last comment.

| as for the balance issue, i never said that protoss was worse than terran. Yes toss > terran. But it's far from how much people exaggerate it. This imbalance crap is blown way out of proportion. A good terran player still has a good chance of beating protoss players. |

I dont understand why you guys disagree with KeN putting this on BR.com. If it helps the readers play starcraft, I think its fine. I mean, doesn't every battlereport have a strat hidden behind it? The strat KeN is trying to convey is a more general thing and can't be shown through only one game, unless it was staged. I loved the strat, even though it was similar not a RIP-OFF of Heartcutter's TvP; I guess I'm just one of those, as Sp|nE put it, "non-expert terran players".

I know I'm hopping on this bandwagon late, but I would like to say that from my perception, this is a blatant attempt by Ken to publicize his site. He didn't even try to make it look like a battlereport. This was basically a copy and paste job.
IMO, this is just spam (granted, fancy spam). If you want your site publicized at Br.com, then have JV add you to the links page, don't spam your strats in the Battlereports section.
Heartcutter, in most cases, followed up his strats with mini battlereports. Also, he didn't have a .com site that he was copying and pasting from <i>and</i> linking to.
Anyway, that's just my two cents, I'm not rating this since it <i>isn't</i> a battlereport.

Hmmm... Chris_Cracker, you assume that his motives were to help others. Many of the people who have posted their messages here believe it wasn't for that reason, but simply to promote his web site.
Also, it isn't a battle report by any stretch of the imagination. Now granted, fictional pieces do appear on this site, but they have been condoned for a long time, and the administrators decided that they were okay. Strategies also appeared on the site, and for the most part, every time one does appear, the administrators/raters state that it really isn't appropriate for the site. Even Heartcutter, who posted his strategies for so long, was told on his last one that it was something more suited for the forum and was given a three. (And we have yet to hear from Heartcutter on here since.)
So basically, it has been established for awhile that this is not a strats page, unless of course the strat is incorporated into a report. Had [e]KeN applied his strats in a game and report that, the responses generated would have been much more favorable. |

Hey eken this may not be appropriate for the site or whatever but thanks for a good guide. It will help my terran as yes I'm no master so I thought it was good for what it was. Maybe JV and Mark could consider making a strat section of battlereports.com so that people can read them or just skip over them if they want. I don't know but I thought it was very good.

Terrans requires more micro than Protoss. Def Web is countered by restoration, say. Lotta special abilities and support stuff, if you can pull it off, you can easily defeat anyone and anything.
