I was once tearing down the structures of a newbie after completely dominating from the beginning of the game. I felt pretty ... much like you seem to feel when pulling these newbie-killer stunts that show how much you own newbies.
My unwilling victim then volunteered that he was 8 years old. I didn't feel to good then cause I'm over 30.
Beaten up any 8 year olds lately?
Try playing players of your own skill level, then report those games. Probably you're totally humiliating some young or handicapped kids, at least at times, even if you don't realize it. |

For a second I thought this was going to be a mass-DA-Mind-Control-everything-your-opponent-makes-and-then-kill-him-with-his-own-units strat. I'm very disappointed. I want more BGH strats of the day!
Anyway, I love the pic of the battlecruisers. I have a friend who would fall for something like that, as evidenced by his repeated nuking of his own troops. I'd like to know what you would have done if he hadn't disconnected.
P.S. If the Starcraft gods show up again, ask them why I've been exiled from bnet. I think they owe me a new computer. |

My apologies. My comment (#23) was unnecessarily harsh.
Your underlying premise of your reports that "Hunters players suck because they play Hunters maps" or "Players who suck play Hunters", doesn't always wash. Sometimes players suck because they're very young or handicapped. |

Token, I'm assuming by your response that you have chosen #1 on my little poll (you believe every word I said). Keep in mind that this super humiliating strat may never have happened.... :-)
However, if it happened, I stand by it. I think you are taking it a little too seriously. There are many ways to win a game of Starcraft, this is one of them. Mass zergling, goon containment, and tank pushes can get old. Every once in awhile you have to do something to keep the game fresh. If its at the expense of another player's pride, so be it. Their life will continue. If it really effects their self esteem to lose to 44 hallucinated BCs then I would say they have some other issues to deal with.
Also, my underlying theme here is not necessarily that people that play hunters suck. My underlying theme is, beating newbies can be funny. It just so happens that if you're looking for a newbie to beat, your best bet is to join a game created on a Hunters clone.
Hope this addresses some of your concerns. If you don't agree with me, that's fine. Just wanted to let you know where I was coming from.

Yes, it's fun to win by some off-the-wall method. I played a pair of games on Challenger last night, and they must have been 2 Of The Worst Players Ever(tm)
So the first one, I made 36 queens and killed him with broodlings and infested terrans (I broodlinged every single scv he had, no lie).. and the 2nd one, I screwed around, made 10 robobays, and won with a 30 reaver drop.
On one hand, it's sad that I wasted an hour of my life, but on the other hand, it WAS amusing. :P
I'll go on record as saying I believe this happened. Why? Because it was on BGH. 'nuff said. And besides, the Starcraft gods are out there still Dref... ;) |

| I want to see an SC game that uses actual military tactics and strategy damnit! With 2 players using them! It would be 10x more interesting than the games we have now IMHO... I know Mark4 being in the military should be one of the 2 players, and I have a decent knowledge of tactics so if I ever get off my lazy ass and go buy a new copy of SC/BW I might be that other guy. |

Nice report. It was quite humorious.
It's obvious what Dref did. He battlereported against a computer using the name Indigo~Bob. The enemy tactics were exactly what a terran BW AI always does. Namely, it does an infantry rush, followed by an infantry/tank attack. In the tank attack, the infantry is attack moved and not left to guard the tanks. The tanks are always bunched up, unless they got split up en route by some kind of natural obstical.
Furthermore, the single late bunker at the choke is also another thing the computer will do, as well as sending all the workers to fight if the attacker is a worker as well.
You will also note that there is no comment by anyone but Indigo~Bob. If there were two people, why did Drefsab not retort to the claims of hacking?
But non of this matters to me. It was a great read Dref, keep up the good work. |

Of course there is in-game chat Dref. That's how the cheat codes are entered in single player. You will notice that Drefsab does not say anything in the game. If he started the game under the name of Indigo~Bob, then he could have said the newbish things and passed them off as someone else.
Under that guise, the only image that would need doctoring is "Indigo~Bob has left the game". Specifically, you'd need to paint the text yellow and remove the Semicolon from when you typed in "has left the game". You would also want to move the text after "Indigo~Bob" to the left a little, otherwise there will be a larger space than normal. Unfortunately Dref, you moved it a little too much as the space between "Indigo~Bob" and "has" is a little smaller than the other spaces in the sentance.

Not to mention hallucination is useless against the CPU, as it always knows which is the "real" object(s), and would be able to kill the lone real BC.

Drefsab never really showed us a picture of the hallucinations in a fight. He just showed them hovering. If he really did fight with them, why didn't he show us that? Also, I couldn't pick out a BC in that fleet that wasn't light blue. Was the real one not in it?

| AHHHH you're caught. This is how it happened. You played the comp on hunters. You did everything you said you did. Before you played you set up your name as "indigo~bob" and typed in the whole cheating and hacking accusations :) Then you took a photo of someone that had "left the game" in some other br of yours (or you just ran out and got a pic of someone leaving a game ) and then you used some cheesey pic editor to cut and paste "indigo~bob" over the other person's name. This is evident as that pic is just boot leg as hell. Anyone can go look it over and see that. Also YOU never speak during the entire BR. Just indigo~bob speaks, so the charade is easy enough to pull off. Good job though, this thing was entertaining. |

Oh yeah, one more thing... I lost a couple of games on purpose too. If someone /stats Indigo~Bob you'll see he has a 2-2 record.
In one game, my partner got pretty pissed off cuz I made a total of 7 command centers in my main and kept pumping SCVs. And when my base was mined out, I started long distance mining my natural with about 100 SCVs. teehee

I just laughed myself out of my mind when i saw the pic with 44 Bcs... See I was reading but My eye caught the pic before I got to the part where you describe your final strat. Since they are blue at first I am thinking oh this must be indigo-bob's secret fleet and Dref is in trouble. Then I am thinking nah.. the color's wrong somehow... The knowledge of the comp is spawned from not having a decent ISP myself. When I can't get a stable connection, and I want to play starcraft, I do some comp games for practice.
It only takes a couple games before you realize how predictable the computer it. |
