In case anyone was wondering, I used MS Photo Editor or something like that to crop down the pics, and then used MS Word for everything else, including the little word bubbles. Clearly, Word is not the thing to use to produce snazzy HTML. ;-) My next report will have a bit more refined writing, hopefully (I was just really eager to get this thing posted so I didn't edit as much as I should have), and I will push Word to its limits of HTML coolness... might also see if I have any page software that's better suited to this task.
sir-SCORP's sudden unsharing of vision was a funny twist to the game; floating my command center over his base to spy on him was a breach of observer protocol, I admit, but it livened things up a little. Fortunately, Scorp wasn't doing anything terribly interesting like expanding, due to Dog's masterful hydra containment. |

This is not a quick tech build. Its an idiotic build.
Other than that, the quotes were funny. Some of them made me laugh out loud. Humorous content can make a boring one-sided game interesting to read.

Shaddup. I lack the patience to do manual HTML; I used to write web pages using MS-DOS Edit, but
eventually came to the conclusion that it wasn't worth the effort. I'm referring to using Word's ability to convert a document into HTML format. Unfortunately, there seems to be only so much you can do with Word to lay out a nice page, and I don't feel like shelling out actual cash to get something more professional.
I invite you to try attacking a fleeing overlord directly, and then repeat the experiment by moving the goon directly under. Here's the problem with a direct attack: the goon can't move and fire at the same time. So it takes an awkward step or two until it's in range, and then shoots, and then takes another step. The biggest delay with this method is when the goon gets in range and prepares to fire, only to discover that during that time, the OL has moved about one pixel out of range. This results in a lot of halting, false starts, etc... all of which generally lead to the OL getting away. Again, I invite you to try the experiment sometime. You'll quickly discover what an idiot you are.

Amen to that. If I'm floating an overlord over an enemy base and a goon comes charging up to it, I pray to God the guy just attack-moves instead of running under it and then shooting. (We won't get into the foolishness of leaving the overlord there once you see that cybernetics core start to warp in...)
To explain further, the reason the move-under-then-shoot method is better is that starting and stopping are not instantaneous. If you watch goons carefully, you'll see that they stop moving, set themselves, then start firing, like a siege tank sieging up. All units do this. It takes time for a unit to accelerate to full speed from a standing start, and more time for it to decelerate back to a stop so it can fire.
If you move the dragoon under the OL and then shoot, you only get one start-and-stop delay for the entire series of shots. If you attack-move it, you get a whole series of delays, all of which are time that you could have spent firing.
This business of acceleration and deceleration is important in other areas, too. To take an example from my own experience as a Zerg player, consider the case of a bunch of mutalisks getting psi-stormed. If the mutalisks are sitting still when the storm hits, they're hosed, because by the time they get up to speed and get out, the storm has killed most of them. If they're already moving, though, they can escape with only moderate injuries. This is why, when you see a templar moving up, you need to get your mutalisks in motion right away. Don't wait for him to shoot before you start your dodge.
