I understand you are in TF and all... But i felt your report was somewhat one sided in favor of Brad. I knew from the first few lines who had won the game.

Apart from that it was clear concise and interesting to read.

As for Maynard's reaction, it is entirely possible to be pissed off especially when you think the game is in your favor. Dts have ruined more than one game for me so I understand his walking out like that.

When really pissed off there are two things you can do: talk smack about how gay the tactic is or leave the room and count to ten...

I think Maynard was overconfident otherwise he would have built that observatory. Maybe people had been talking in his ear before the game telling him he is all that and how he was going to crush Brad.

Always nice to see the underdog win though like I said: I would have liked the report to be written in a way in which the victory would surprise and delight me. Instead your bias made it predictable...

Cheers,
MrFurious

Shouldn't you make a post in the forum advertizing your report, instead of taking up this space on BR.com?

Of'course, that's up to JV,M4, and YRM, but I think BR.com is for battlereports on BR.com

Top players have a right to be pissed when they lose!

When I lose, I say "damn, fuck" but I still give a "gg" and usually converse about the game afterward.

However, Maynard didn't just lose the game, he lost $500 !!!!!!!

Have any of you people lost $500 because you forgot to click on an observatory? I remember working for a mere 7$ an hour, where it would take me a MONTH to reach $500. If I had a chance to win $500 in a few hours and I blew it, yes I would be pissed.

There are many games where I'm so frustrated that I feel like leaving without a GG. But it's sorta like being in a professional sports match where you lose and don't shake the hand of your opponent. In professional sports, you have a LOT more riding on you than $500, and they generally give a good display of sportsmanship (except for, ahem, some notable tennis players...). I think in the end, for 99% of us, people will remember/judge you more by your character than your abilities.

Yeah, I'm really surprised Maynard didn't build an observatory. His opponent could have been doing *anything* back there, maybe even his own reaver drop on Maynard's mineral line. I think it *was* overconfidence, I sometimes get into this mentality, "This guy sux, I'm just going to win this as fast as possible." But then my carelessness will cost me the game :-(. I was trounced by DTs in a 1on2 recently because I was overconfident and didn't build cannons in my mins line.

I spent 5 minutes putting your report into the actual page. We here at BR.com really hate external links to reports, its been a policy since the first week of this site's existence. Thanks for the cool report.

I was wondering what all that talk about the report being to graphics-intensive or what not. Geno obviously hasn't ready YRM's reports =). What I want to know is how Geno got his pics from i2e2 to wherever =) was he on an observer comp?

Geno, thank Vegas for being a nice webmaster, and good report.

Great report.. but
"This was the key mistake, that later caused him the game."
D'oh. I didn't know Maynard won... kinda a spoiler. And its cost, not caused, btw. Otherwise, though, great report.

What's the deal with killing the observatory's pylon? Unless it keeps the obs from warping in further, because you make the observers out of the robo fact and it doesn't care if the observatory is powered or not as long as the robo fact has power...

Thanks for all the critisism and support..
i hope my next report gets better then i 7..
I was really dissappointed with that :[
I hope some other raters take a peek at it!! :[

Thanks vegas for putting it in.. i saw your thing and it was like max 50k per picture and i knew mine were higher.. so i linked to it :p

Thanks though!

Sorry about that 7 TF-Geno, though I will add I am one of the most critical of the raters. I think I didn't enjoy it so much because the report was short, and I'd heard about the game before (not that you can help that). It did clear up that Maynard had really lost control of the game when he left.

That 50k thing is only if you upload the images to BR.com =). Having seen the tourneys, do you think i2e2 will be having more live events? Meaning is it working out for them (already seems cool for the players)?

P.S. Starcon2 > SC/BW (gotta love Abandonware)

Well, hopefully i will be going to the remaing 4 i2e2 tournaments to write Battle Reports.
i2e2 seems like a good gameing company and i think they will do well.
#20 [22914]
The 50K thing only applies to reports when you upload images to our server using the server upload tool. If you link the images from your site, you can have as many images as you want.

Maynard has a history of botching it in tournements that he's supposed to win... and again lost due to a small oversight that he probably wouldn't normally make.

At least he didn't lash out or whatnot, considering he'd lost the chance of winning alot more than $500. I can understand why he'd be pissed off at himself enough to just walk away.

It's funny how certain types of cheating or trashtalking go on in all sports, and that's ok, but if someone shows frustration at losing, they have no character. Oh well. At least the report doesn't come down on Maynard too hard for it, and it was a good report.

gay gay gay!!! j/k

Great report, it was nice to actually see what had happened. Until I read the report I thought that Maynard gave up because his contain was lost, I never realized the dts in his main. :( I have commented on this thing a ton. In my opinion, his 'tude was understandable. Some people just don't take losing well. I have friends that throw a hissy fit whenever they lose. This tells you two things, they are VERY competitive and they don't lose much.

As far as my views on the game. I think that's why Maynard was so pissed. The momentary lapse of thinking (Forgetting detection) caused him the game. Brad took a pretty big chance building so many dts and with 1 observer, game should have been in the bag. I did want to let you know though, Maynard basically gave up after the dts broke out of Brad's main. Maynard put his hands on his head, then stood up. He then sat back down to watch his expansion go down. Then he got up and walked off. Oh well... again thanks for the report.... and how many people DID you recruit from the Phx tourney...lol.

Good Solid report. I agree with you that it should have gotten higher then a seven. I would have given it an eight. Some people like the foreshadowing and others don't, does not bug me too much. Keep up the good work, and I am looking forward to your next reports.
