He probably skimped on gas early on so he could start that expansion first. (Yes, I know the extra rax eats minerals too, but gas = 100 for the refinery and 150-200 for the 3-4 SCV's that aren't on mineral.) You definately touched on something important here; although I'm really not a TvT expert (in fact, I'd actually rather face a toss than another terran, and would definately prefer a zerg <G>), I would say the best reason to have a dominant wraith force is because they make such dern good drop support. You can very easily stop wraiths from being a problem by defending your nodes with a bunch of turrets. Throw dropships and tanks into your mix, and their life becomes a lot more difficult.

Well I'm not a TvT expert but I don't think anyone really is...
I'm suprised you didn't do a 4vulture drop since that compliments the wraith strategy best.
Unlike tanks which eat gas fairly fast. |

Am I the only guy that does not go hard wraiths when I face another Terran? I'm more of a marine/vulture/tank/SV guy. It's amazing how quickly wraiths packs die to marines once you EMP them.
Ummm... what am I saying. Wraiths die quickly to everything.

Well I dont usually go hard wraiths vs a terran, I usually go for goliaths/tanks/and whatever detection {whether its comsat, vessel, or turret}. And yes, drops are a terrans #1 weakness against any race. |

You never realize how long two whole months really are. I started reading this, and said to myself:<p> "Wraith? Wraith? What the....Terran...Terran plane, yes, that's it!"<p>
*Sigh* back to Shareware for me... |

Snow, has there ever been a Terran game where you did not build battlecrusiers?
Just curious

Fractal, I build them eventually because of what a certain terran player has said: They are the all-around ass-kicking unit. ;) Provided you use them smartly. :P
Actually one of my fondest games was against YRM, where he was slowly but surely getting the upper hand on me and containing.. but the cruisers that I was building on the side from one starport reached a total of 5 and I busted them out. To which YRM replied classically:
"How the HELL do you pull 5 bcs out of your ass from 2 bases?!"
Cruisers have saved me sooo many times. But I never have cruiser tech as my main goal. Ever do mass M&M's with a few cruisers? Think crackling swarm with ultras. :) |

You should be ashamed I was winning Zerg vs Terran in the first place. I really let my cash build up too much that game.
I never expected you to have them because you had a tank push in the center, and I had hit your mining twice...
Live and learn. GOod report as always. |
