Well I've never done the 7bat1med drop, but I've frequently done the 16 stimmed infantry raze the nexus drop :) What takes all of 2-3 seconds... Let the probes live, they cant do much without a nexus :) Don't suicide your guys, get them back in those dropships :0

| Would someone please tell me what in gods name is going on here? I actually checked this in Netscape and it loaded all the pictures just before the crash ever 4.5 second rule kicked in. Obviously the pictures are loading on some peoples computers. They are all standard jpegs. Oh, what did I do to deserve this. Did you try hitting refresh? Obviously the text wasn't intended to be neon green on white. The gods of html are not pleased with me this day. |

First, a gripe. Because of the title refering to banning protoss, guessing the winner was easy. Personaly, it bugged me because game 1 was a real (TRYING to avoid the pun, but can't find an alternative) toss up. Other then that, the br was sweet.
When I first saw the early expand build, I thought it was nuts. I then tried it out a few times. A zerg still has an easier time stopping a superfast zealot rush against their 2 hatch expanding, but the gain is much higher for the toss if it works, and most rushes can be stopped with some massive micro. Probably the best thing for a zerg to do is to try to slow the protoss as much as they can while they grab extra expansions to even the score (toss w/ 2 exps > zerg w/ 2 exps; that's why the zerg are better at expanding anyway). Nice muta handling on the zerg's part.
As for the terran... imo, bats don't work. The cost is too high as I see it. Now, I've seen a 4 vulture drop done before (thanks to a good parasite in an FFA w/ Mordor in it) and THAT is effective (especialy since killing 6 drones and being sure 2 were on gas can just about pay for the entire drop).
One question: The full anti-HM build is usualy, zealot rush (optional) dragoon containment/annoy, observers, templar (optional right now, but get it eventualy) d-web. Well, tanks do POORLY against web we all know. Can deep six handle it w/ medics that can heal under a web and marines that are more mobile w/ stim?
Oh, and "Calm down now kiddies. I didn't say it was over. (if you've been paying attention to your scroll bars you'd know it wasn't over either)" doesn't that make a worthy quote there?

To answer the Deep 6 question, Nope, m/m get massacred by storm and units tend not to move unless otherwise directed when under gayweb.
This report was awesome except that it made fun of me too much...
The other 2 games referred to at the end of the report were both temple where zerg tried to stop my early exp vs. zerg and terran.
Game 1... 2 hatch hydras
Result: OWNED
Game 2... 3 hatch lings
Result: OWNED
I know 2 zerg strats that I've really had trouble with using this strat. Both were done by members of Pillars old clan... i.e. 1500+ ladder ppl with annoying micro =(
2 hatch hydra came much closer to beating me then 3 hatch lings. |

Great report - good pictures, good humor, and I loved the TMBG ("There's only one thing that I know how to do well") reference.
As far as browser problems...as soon as my Netscape finished loading the entire report, it cleared it all out and reloaded it! This was a bit puzzling, but I still enjoyed the report a lot. |

[CAT]willzzz: I'm well aware that there are more effective strategies than the 7&1 drop but there are few that make for a cooler looking title jpeg. As for rushing on Rivalry I don't know if it is the best strategy against Iced, but anyone who takes my Starcraft advice is an idiot.

Barage: Sorry about the title thing. That did occur to me but I was hoping that people wouldn't read it that way. Plus once you save a title pic as a jpeg there really isn't
any going back. As for strategy, well don't as me. Again,
I know that 4 vultures are probably a lot more effecive than
the 7&1 drop but somehow I just can't get this image out of my head of seven firebats going to town on a supply line full of probes. (also what do you guys think of an 8 medic

Fuzzus: Wow someone got my TMBG reference already. I was going to offer bonus points. Well here is another piece of trivia worth 31 bonus points. What movie is this paraphrased from: "You're reading it wrong. Stop reading it wrong..." Sorry if this is too easy, I find a lot of starcraft players are big trivia freaks too. As for the browser thing thats kind of like what my Netscape did except instead of reloading the page it just caused a general protection fault. 4.5 seconds on the nose.

| Well everything in this report was EXTREMELY well done, I loved the way the background mixed in. IMHO the first successful use of a non-basic color background. The pictures were great, and I loved the style of it all, not to mention good ol' ALT text. However, the games were beat downs, and as soon as I saw who the players were I knew they would be. I mean Iced-Tree does use 1400+ strategies (private joke =]). Anyway the report still rocked. |

Holy Shit great report! I liked they how you put the text over the dirt backround. Great writing, great pics. This was a 10 despite the fact that Zerg and Terran didn't win.
Also, I agree with Will, dark temple does look gay, I still prefer regular temple. There are some nice comments that could be added to the quote bin. BJack: 3+?? don't make me laugh. Actually its difficult to say how long it took me the whole thing because everytime I tried to work on it people would start chatting with me on icq or asking me to let them read it. And then there is the "stare at the screen blankly for an hour before I realize I need to get some sleep or atleast coffee" factor. I spent about an hour just getting the terrain background in order. I'd say 10 hours of solid work time total. The writing takes me almost as much time as the pictures.

WC3 also shows up on the silver`thunder and fear`factory logins. We all know each other's passwords. In fact, all 3 of us, but mostly sol999, played ladder so much BW Season 1 that the login was ranked Number 3 in the world in games played (screenshot confirmation).
Third, no "normal" strategy which can't prevent the templar archives from going up will beat this strategy at my skill level. You MUST prevent templars from coming out - otherwise its over. 3-hatch zerglings - PROBES own zerglings. 2-hatch hydra - if your first attack fails, you're toast. Templars will own. I've recently thought of some sneaky TaKtiks (huk huk) that might be of some use, but whatever. IceD-Tree still owns.
