'bout time ducky. You fixed most of the crap that I whined about. Next time, try varying the fonts, and stop frigging chopping up the text :) Two last things. Try to use squares instead of funky shapes. The pic at the top was usless with all the BCs and carriers. Now that I'm done nitpicking, great report! Please except the above as constructive critism. BTW... Your graphics are da bomb, now only you could get off your ass and do something for SSO.

This was a great Battle Report Ducky, the pics were awesome and the writing was pretty good too. To bad it was a FFA!!!
I wonder why everyone has been into this FFA thing lately. I guess I'm the only one that doesn't play them, maybe I should start. Ducky's msged me about a million times to join them, but I've never once accepted. Maybe if I do one of these days I can actually be in a Ducky BR!!! Woohooo!!! |

I can see a shitload of work went into this, and i can appreciate that. Especially all the pics. However, I came away from this report bored, confused, and having learned nothing new for my next starcraft battle. No tips, strats, nada.
The lack of detail killed me, when you say 5 shuttles full of ? attacked teals expansion, only to be destroyed by tanks on the high ground and defense produced out of a factory, but all the scvs were killed. 5 shuttles full of goodness destroys scvs and gets destroyed by tanks on high ground and goliaths made while the attack happened? That is a new strat, producing defenses while you are being attacked.
Maybe it was that simple, scvs were targeted and the attackers were killed by some tanks, but wtf, at least tell me that was what happened.
"Almost instantaneously, just as IceD-Tree was retreating back to his expansion to get himself back up to speed, and extract what is left that he can get, BB-Chargon attacks. Dragoons, archons, and templar all fought thier way over the center of the map, working their way down to yellows expansion, where a few final storms finally ended the onslaught of BB's troops."
No offense, but dragoons, archons, and templar fight down the middle, and are killed by some storm? I doubt that is what led to their demise, I want to know how troops were killed. a battlereport which sez force A went here and force B went there and force A won really doesn't

"During this time, Spicoley was able to set up the first *real* defense of the 12:00 mineral natural, by putting up several tanks and bunkers. They were spaced so that corsairs would not be able to d-web them all. This time also allowed BB-Chargon to reclaim his mineral natural, and finish mining out the other two bases he owned. (12:00 natural and the top left island) The 2nd natural did not live long, for the bunkers/turrets owned by Spicoley covered that area, and easily destroyed the nexus. This meant that Spicoley had effectively put both BB-Chargon and IceD-Tree out of the game, unless they could defeat the bloackade together, or one of them came up with an amazing strategy to get through. "
Ok, several bunkers and tanks. Spaced so that dweb couldn't get them all. Hmmm.... and an amazing strat is needed. I dunno, there seem to be a few strats for taking several bunkers and tanks spaced apart, especially with toss. I myself, as lame as i seem, have actually been able to run over bunkers and tanks. Maybe a specified several, and how they were spaced would have helped me out. D-web aint the only thing that allows toss to rip up terran, and even a bunch of corsairs could supply enough d-web to put a serious hurting on teal.
" Now that he had been evicted from teals expansion, IceD-Tree wanted revenge. His only expansion nearly mined out, and his excess minerals quickly running low, IceD-Tree sent all of his dragoons and templar to teal's expansion once again. He got there, and destroyed the expansion with ease. 12 zealots from BB-Chargon decided to attack the same expansion (What's with this delayed teaming stuff?) but instead tried to kill the Dragoon/Templar force, allowing the Command Center to escape."
A helluva interesting battle, the detail put into how it was fought blew me away. and apparently it was a crucial battle, which was why it got so much attention.
"After the expansion fell, IceD-Tree sent a lone Dark Templar to close the nexus at white's 2nd natural, it stood there for a few minutes, not attacking until 9 of teal's marines came over and did the same thing. The darktemplar attacked the nexus, kiling it, then killed all of the marines. At the same time, Spicoley had destroyed Blue's 2nd natural with his force of goliaths, tanks and marines, and was steadily working his way into white's natural, currently held by blue."
A dt killed a nexus, then some marines.
While teal's destruction of two expansions and how he did it gets sparse coverage. hmm....this had me on the edge of my seat.
"With his archons, BB-Chargon attacked the expansion at his mineral natural, while IceD-Tree joined in the fray, with his last hope for victory on the line. Whoever won would be the winner of the game, because they alone would have adequate troops to take the other mineral source (12:00 main) remaining on the map, and eventually wipe out both players. (Who no doubtedly did not have many resources left) Psi storm crackled. Dark Templars swept through. Observers (The unit not me and LionLord) sent information packets furiously into their respective databases. The chaotic archons growled at the zealots and dragoons. Tanks sieged up. Defensive matrixs crackled. In the end, all that survived was a few BB-Chargon archons, templar, and dragoons. BB-Chargon had won,"
Force A, Force B, and force C had a battle, and Force A won.
Apparently soemthing got d-matrixed, something growled, and some stuff did this, and something happened.
Whats with the whole "lets suck each other's dicks"? This report had some kickass pics, but the writing is mediocre at best. I know i sound like a dick, but take away the pics and this blows. I aint a great battlereporter, I aint a rater, hell, I aint much of anything.
But I am an average Starcraft player who reads too many battlereports, and I am telling you this did not
a: entertain
b: improve my starcraft game
Which as far as I know, are the only two reasons to read battlereports.

I know. I majorly should have re-read it atleast once. I only read it after it was submitted, and by then, it was too late. The last battle was very hard to watch, as most of it happened within a 5 second time period. It was that fast. But everyone loves watching archons kill Command Centers =]
What I'm thinking next time, is to do what I really should ahve been doing here, and showing you exactly what each group of units was doing. Like I told you, the final battle was a lot of guessing on my part, because ihappened so quickly (And I only got about 4 shots of it, and notes were out of the question =] )
I think other than the things you pointed out, I did pretty good. Normally I don't put as much work in on the pix, and more work on the actual text of the battlereport.
Thanks for not being a dickweed when you told me how bad my br sucked =]

Dont take the critism too badly. I agree with post #36 bAd_heD_aKE(OT)
While some of it was less than the best... it was till great.. better than most postz lately... what i suggest is to "write" the report out first. Then proof read it.. spell check it... have a friend or two proof read it... then once your ready add the html to it and then submit it...
thatz how my next BR is going ot be done... I only written one... and I should not have... but I did and it did a 7 i think (text only) and Now that I read a few.... I would have rated mine a 4 maybe a 3....

Great report Ducky!
Definetely better graphics-wise than anything I could ever do, and pretty-well written although it lacked some detail and description.
One little nitpick though... at the very beginning of the report where you mention the positions (12:00, etc.) you mixed up BB Chargon and Spicoley. It got a little bit confusing as I was picturing it like that through the whole report until I got to the enlarged minimap picture and it turned out the exact opposite of what I had been imagining =D Oh well, besides that very well done!
