Woo Haaa!!! Flee "1" giving infidel! Johnny's gonna smoke you like a cheap cigar. It's probably time to change the rater passwords again.

Yeah, I changed the rater password. Anyway, I guess IP's for rater's haven't been stored because of a program error. Doh. We'll never know who rated a 1. darn. Also someone gave a report a 10 that was only like a 5 or 6..

Oh well, I want ratership really bad. Maybe I could be the phantom rater, bwahahah!

great job Mark4, but why you using the old name? I thought it was a smurfer. Oh wait, ADQ3 is a smurf :)

Good idea logging IPs of voters since there has been majorly gay votes lately... Otherwise fine report AQD3. Why was the ladder report with Mark4? Did you get the wrong one? Were you playing under Mark4's name?

Hey Mark4, maybe they gave you a one cause you were newbie bashing on the ladder again... 1000 rating! You shud be ashamed! heh

Great report as usual... that rescuing probe without looking at it trick was another one that I'll forget when I need to use it in a game.

#13 (strangers.bragg.ar[20150]
Settle down FLS, we are doing a few minor rating things. I posted as AQD3 because this was a ladder game from my perspective which is sort of an AQD3 thing. It just helps seperate out the type of report for me a little more.

And quit complimenting/flaming the report and start posting your anti 2 hatch hydra strats as protoss!

#14 (fjwilson.reshall.uc[20153]
Hmmmm... my anti 2-hatch strats as protoss. Number one, just go with like 4 gates of zealots off one base. Works real well when you have speed. You'd think it wouldn't, by my 2-hatch hydra gets screwed that way. Number two, tech to templar and shuttles, storm the hell out of a ton of hydras, skirmish, take both the islands, get overrun, start two new bases, and stage an amazing comeback with corsair and carriers.

Well, that last one.. works surprisingly often =)

#15 <img "/images2/n_fls.gif"> (I.have.a.very.cool.ip.address.here)[20154]
phew I thought mark4 kicked me outta rater list for giving him a ONE! damn!

As to fight against hydra rushers....
Flat out zealot pressure from the strat will force the zerg to either get sunkens and lings if they expand. If that's the case, it'll take zerg a lil while to mass up hydras while you get templars then expand. If they don't, then a 3 gate zeals should allow toss to get to templars before too many hydras.

#16 Warphead (johnny.bath.ac.uk)[20158]
Well written report as usual, Mark4. Myself, I find that speed Zealots and Reavers works better against mass Hydras than Dragoons (everything supported with healthy doses of HT w/ Storm, naturally), and Reavers help vs Cracklings. Of course, the problem is they don't help against anything else really... xcept Ultras :P

NOO!!! Not you again! *hides under his bed*
#18 ~Daemon~Dragon~ (s06.austin.ibm.com)[20170]
I don't know about the 2 hatch hydras... It seems you might do best to catch them off guard, leave about half your zeals outside your choke and catch them from 2 directions, really nice if you got speed.. But on the other hand that'll let those hydras that are in the back get shots off that they normally might not get if they fighting against goons...
2-3 Dts to scare him away worked well as you found, I also notice zerg tend to be afraid for lords when up against protoss because of the fear of a quick corsair assault on supply... I'm gonna start trying that, If he had been mining off the mineral natural all game I'm suprised he didn't go around the containment with a a dozen hydras or so hatched from the mineral only...Seems a nice way to pay you back for missing the obvious...

But on to the 2 hatch hydra counters, Ranged goons backed up with zeals might work, if you make them fight the goons then send in the zeals when they are taking focused goon fire already.Storm works wonders if you last long enough to get the 2-3 templar with mana, If I'm a zerg trying it I generally find the worst thing that can happen is a quicky zeal rush with about a dozen zeals, and the absolute worst is if they micro them right, run by the sunkens and hydras, take a few losses, but get those 8 zeals into a base guarded by at that time only 8 or so hydras, zeals win, sounds like in your case that he had 4 sunkens at the main so you couldn't just evade the choke defense and hit the main...Offensive cannons might work since on LT you have that choke, and hydras lose to cannons when they come up to em at a choke like that.. Don't go over board but if you put up 4-5 cannons which do cost alot you probably get your monies worth in hydras before he breaks out which gives you the time to get templars.. Or as you did you can just expand again and go mass gates. I'm becoming a big fan of changing stratgies and attempting to fool your oppenent into making the wrong counters... Queens on the other hand let them see quite a bit...

You know I'm not going to get down on this report because it was a good one, with great writing and all but...

AP-Tactics made a battle report below kind of similar to AQD3's. Granted that game didn't have any interesting qualities to it (being no one heard of the competitors) and this one was had people that I heard of but...

You give this one an 8,9,8 respectively and AP-tactics only got 2-7's?!? This is kinda weird since his had pictures and was a battle report detailing each competitors where this one detailed only AQD3's aspect of the game.

I don't know color me funny, but it looks like favortism. Now I'm not saying it is so don't reply saying that I'm an idiot or whatever, I'm sure my comments are not welcome here as I don't write battle reports (Heh heh that's because I do War Room Death Matches), but still it seemed a little unfair to AP-Tactics.

Not taking any thing away from you AQD3, it was good, but his had pictures where yours didn't have one. Seemed you should have only received 7's as well for the writing without pictures. Where AP-Tactics had pictures, but didn't have known competitors.

This is not a complaint but an observation.

#20 REDMAN~sp (bess.mhs-pa.org)[20175]
The strength of mark4's reports are different then lets say yourrolemodel's reports. Mark4 makes his reports down to the last detail and are very entertaining. On the other hand yrm's reports are more of the graphical side of the battle. yrm also takes a lot into the detail and that is what makes him a better reporter then some people that just pu tpictures and describe the game. Mark4 doesnt just tell you he did that, he tells you the reason. I know his reports have helped me out a lot in playing starcraft along with just watching him play. Mark4's reports you generally learn a lot more from it then you would say yrm's reports. I prefer to have no pictures at all in the reports if they are a godd writer like mark4. But if it is an okay writer well then they need pictures to spice it up. Kind of like perfume, some people dont need it to look good.
#21 Sid6.9 (1Cust116.tnt6.tacoma.wa.da.uu.net)[20178]
True, Mark 4's posts are well written (I love his BR's). All I'm saying is that the AP-Tactics report was also well written, being that it was an un-interesting game. It kept my interest to read the entire battle report, as did Mark4's.

I just feel it was a little unfair to give him 8,9,8 to only give the other guy (W/pics) only 2-7's.

Not saying that his report was better than Mark4's. But they were both well written, and AP's had the pics and it was a report detailing what each side did. Where Mark4's detailed his side and what he got attacked by, and what he did to retaliate. It gave no insight into the competitor as AP's did.

Now that's not saying that battle reports have to be all by an observer. It's just an observation that some battle reporters get, well, a better chance at getting higher ratings, because, umm, well, because they are a member of this web site. Where others who work hard on theirs get a lower rating.

Now I don't know if it is favoritism or not. But like I said, it was just an observation. Not trying to knock you all or anything, I love everyone's battle reports that try to do one helluva job. I think Mark4's and AP-Tactiks battle reports are equal, due to AP using pics where Mark4 didn't use any. Mark4's was better written, but not by much. So that's why I have the observation I have.

Sid6.9-"Not just a name, it's a flavor too!"
#22 Drefsab (168.91.128.9)[20179]
I like "AQD3's" reports better than the average report because of two main things.

As someone else already mentioned, Mark's reports always include at least one or two strategic tips. I've picked up a lot of cool little tricks from reading his reports.

Another thing that I like about his style is that he is able, through his first person accounts of his battles, to convey a vulnerability. He does not depict himself as a Starcraft god and even though in most reports he wins, he makes sure to show how he could have lost had his opponent taken certain opportunities.

His text only reports are better than most of the reports on this site that include pictures. Just because someone has figured out embed a few images into their reports, doesn't make them some kind battle report master.

With a few rare exceptions, I think that the ratings on this site are pretty fair.

About the double hatch hydra thing, if I can't get to templars before the hydras come, I usually lose... but then again, I suck.

Hey there again,

Maybe I'm wrong. I am wondering though if you guys at Battereports.com could post something showing what critera you use to judge battle reports.

I think it would be helpful to everyone if Battle reporters knew what critera you use to judge the battle reports.

Maybe I'm wrong. I just read AP-Tactiks again and re-read Mark4's. And I agree that Mark4's is better written, but AP's had the pics and good writing. Do you also judge the actual game itself. IE. if it was an interesting game and gameplay to judge the battle reports.

I still think the battle reports are even, through the means that Mark4's was better written, but didn't include action shots like AP-Tactics did.

2 Hatch Hydras own toss...basically if you get your Hydra upgrades fast enough and have good micro you can take out a ton of Zealots without much loss. If you 2 Hatch Hydra rush them and all they have is Zealots (without speed) you have won the game. I think it was soso that said toss has to go out of their way to stop 2 Hatch Hydras by putting up two cannons.

#27 REDMANsp (bess.mhs-pa.org)[20192]
yes i would have to say that goons and reavers is a popular strat against zerg massive hydras for the high level players mainly because the best player go massive hydras against a toss. I saw a report i think it was on the gamegurus.net when the one guy was toss v zerg and the goon/reaver combo just pounded the hydras. I have lost a lot of games from a 3 hatch hydras in which he went expansion then pool then hatchery then hydra den. The problem with toss is before htey get observers they have limited recon. They really dont know if it is muta or hydra so I usually go with a templar tech because reavers arent the best answer i think. Can reavers hit mutas? They can easily switch to mutas. The thing about the templar tech is that you have to go straight zealots. It is not an option. Off of one base you can support a dragoon/templar army. Reavers are better against hydras then storm unless they do a hydra drop where the storm works better. About the criteria. There basically isnt any because of the different styles of reporting. Look at the hall of fame. Each writer has its own personality in writing. Same as in real life. Your writing is giong to have to be viewed froma different angle then someone elses. The only way that br's will ever be able to compete against each other is if 2 people observe the same game and do a report on it. If you look at writing as a whole. Which best selling novels have pictures in it? They describe it by words. There are some excellent writers in this site. I wish i had that skill for english class(iam only good at math). I prefer excellent reports with out pictures. Other people prefer graphics and a nice text and all that. That is why there is MORE than one person rating it. Sure mark4 might get favortized a little. But do you really think all the Rocky's would have been as popular if they werent sequels to eachother? Some people get overpayed for what they do and that is because they have been doing it for a long time. I did notice that most of AQD3's reports were rated 7's all the time and once they revealed it was mark4 it went up a little to 8. I still enjoyed mark4's report better than ap tanktics because i prefer that kind of report. Kind of like that is why there are more than one rater. I belive they try to be as honest as they can about rating it. If anything gets a 6 or above i read it nomatter what.
#28 Jim-the-Car (cx110054-a.pwy1.sdca.home.com)[20196]
I do like Mark4's ladder reports more than any of the other ones, when I see one by AQD3, I skip to that one right away =). I learned lots of things from reading them, like how he defended a zergling rush by using waypoints for attack move command, since probes don't go chasing after people to kill. I know this has saved me a few probes in those situations when I needed them most =). Nonetheless, I don't think it should get a 9, I guess they're just sucking up so they don't get busted like whoever gave it a 1 =)
#29 Macdonough (dial208-184.star-telegram.com)[20197]
Still using your double-identity huh?
Well, on the 2-hatch hydra counter, I see the dilemma here as being the time factor. Correct me if i'm wrong. Of course reavers and storm work well against hydras, but rushing to one of these is impractical unless you are psychic. So, what I would do Mark4, is to delay the expansion, throw down another gate, and tech to storm. Yes, keep making both zealots and dragoons, but use your 3rd gate for temps and DTs. That should be just enough to counter the early hydras so you can expand and stuff.
#30 Glak (dhcp-219-189.res.UMassD.Edu)[20198]
no this is a 10, seriously it puts all of those fancy "oh look at my pretty pictures" reports to shame. Most of the 9s really deserve 7s but this is clearly a 10, ok maybe a 9.4 but no lower.

The quality of the writing of Mark4's reports is superb. I don't mean to take anything away from AP_Taktiks, but if you read both reports back to back you'll find that Mark4's has much better writing and is full of little tactical bits of info. Also, while AP's does have pics they aren't the greatest quality. Again, both are excellent BR's, but I don't think this is really a glaring incidence of favoritism... if there is any favoritism it is slight.

#34 Sid6.9 (1Cust121.tnt10.tacoma.wa.da.uu.net)[20212]
Okay you have all missed my point.

I didn't just want to focus on Mark4's report alone, but I guess I should to get my point across better.

Is the judging of Battle Reports judge on writing alone? If the answer is "Yes" then the report is justified in receiving 8's and 9's.

If not, then how could writing alone be justified in this? Now I know that you think that writing alone can be justified to receiving 8's and 9's, and I won't dispute that. But if another battle reporter makes a report that is just as interesting to read, and includes pictures, doesn't that deserve 8's and 9's as well?

Pictures tell the story of the battles in much better detail. You can say oh I attacked with 3 control groups of men, but with the picture it makes a clearer and more exciting battle report.

Now it is good to have an imagination and the ability to use the words to create a mental image of what the writer is trying to convey. But a picture is worth more that 1000 words can write down, does everyone not agree with that?

I'm not trying to be a jerk to Mark4's battle report, all I'm saying is writing alone just does not deserve the 8's and 9's. No matter if he makes it greater than any Shakspeare story. If that's all the judging is concerned with is the writing?

Maybe you should put on the web site how you judge the stories. IE. put it in % of which parts matter more than the others.

Like this,

Stories are judged by:

50% writing of the story
25% flow of the story
15% Pictures or graphics
10% participants game play (Are they good players or not)

or similar, I just want to know how raters judge the reports.

Thanks

Sid, I was the one who created the rating criteria. We don't have a mathematical formula for calculation the rating. It's based solely on the individual rater's enjoyment of the report. Any text based report can get a 10. A report with very nicely done pictures might get a 3. It has happened. For an example of other text based "reports" that are very highly rated, do a search on praetor and read his PL:C stories.

Graphics are a nice thing to have, but putting average graphics in a good report won't increase the rating any. Putting great graphics in a average report will. Humor can be one of the things that puts a report over the top. Take Bob_the_Newt's reports. The writing is good, but not over the top. The graphics are nicely done, but nothing we haven't seen before from other good graphics people. But I actually had to look around on the floor for my balls after I read his report because I laughed them off.

So bottomline, it's not a formula for calculation rating. It's based on the judgement of the raters with some very broad guidelines I hand out. And I trust the raters.

Okay Thanks Mark4, I hope I didn't seem like a totally asshole while trying to find out how reports are rated. Just thought you all had a different method.

This one kind of breeds a certain favortism though (Not saying your report means that, cause it was great). If one of the raters doesn't like someone personally then they will probably never rate that persons report with an open mind (although I'm sure you all do, but for the sake of arguing) no matter how good the report is. But then of course other readers would see that, and cry unfair if any of you did rate someone below what their rating should be.

Ahh heck, these reports are made for fun anyways. I don't know why I get so worked up over these things. Heh heh thanks for letting me know how you judge them though. I hope you didn't take it as an attack on you. Just an observation I had that wanted an explanation as to how the rating system works.

You told me.

I understand.

The 8's and 9's stands as the raters are the ones that are judging it and not me. Thanks

#39 Guitarzan (t62202.turbonet.com)[20230]
Nice report "AQD3"! Very well done.

And here goes the rant...
Sheesh! Each BR is rated independently. There is NO 50% writing, 10% pics, 30% humor (hehe) distribution of the points. And EVEN IF THERE WAS, then someone could still possibly get 200% on the writing (as Mark4 and some others are in the habit of doing) and get a 10 out of the text only BR.

And then there are the other types of reports like YRM's and Bob_the_newt's (or is it Bob's_the_newt ?)which are dressed up with really cool, high quality pics. Now, do you think this report gets it's rating by the exact same point distribution as a YRM report? If so, I'd have to say you're mistaken.

Finally, BR-ing is all about style. If a writer develops a style that people (read raters) like, then that style will get good ratings. It seems that a lot of people like Mark4/AQD3's reports because of the very detailed, insightful style that he puts into the BRs. IMHO, THAT is the reason that this report is rated so well. It is written in such a way that nearly all of us really enjoy. Not to mention the fact that getting tips from Mark4 by means of his BRs is always good.

And there's my synthesis on how BRs are rated....

Nice report mark4 and good game...actually this was my second game in a few days and first as zerg...I always random but I've been getting toss like 90% of the time...
let's just say I haven't got zerg in like the past 30 games...so I went with a basic 2 hatch hydra, deciding to 6 ling on 8 for standard probe harassment...I normally would
respond to a chosen protoss with either a quick expansion or a second hatch before pool a la Grr...perhaps this is why your anti-2 hatch hydras worked mark? I really should have ran his expansion over, but as mark mentioned I was somewhat worried about sair punishment, seeing as all I had seen was zealots at that point...but there were alot of zealots and they were on the move, so I morphed 4 sunkens because I had just started hydras...I had an excess of drones anyway because I wanted to expand prior to noticing the zealots on the move...
After repulsing the zealots I countered, but ran into dt...I had an overlord somewhat nearby, but seeing the goons I figured I needed to wait for speed so I could bring more than 1...I was actually planning on switching up to mutaling as many toss will respond to hydras with zealots as many ppl commented...but seeing goons with zeal support I decided my only recourse was queens and hydra...as an afterthought I think I should have gone with a wall of lings as well to rip up the goons and keep the zealots off me...
But of course storm owns...so I got owned too...especially in that little choke at 3:00...I couldn't control my hydra and they were running around crazily because of storm...
I never did mine the mineral only hard...I had 4-5 drones there for maybe 5 minutes or so because I just knew he would notice it sooner or later...it was kind of funny though...I got sacs to take an island but it was too little too late...the toss had too much on units and upgrades and my lvl 2 ups weren't even finished when he had 3 on attack so I simply conceded...
I'd like to try this one again though as I'm not sure it will stop the straight rush without the lings...in fact it really didn't stop the rush with the lings, just bad overlord work on my part...gg mark!
#41 (fjwilson.reshall.uc[20272]
Hey Sid, it's fine to be interested on how we rate reports. I remain convinced that the only bias in rating reports lay in when they are read. Big-name writers, such as AQD3, draw a raters attention right away. Same as reports already rated 8+ by another rater. In the case of AP-taktiks, he is only previously known as a player.

This doesn't make a rater biased. It has been my experience, that except in the case of obvious style, I often forget the author (and sometimes title) of a report.

Lastly, I would point out that not every rater rates every report, and some raters have their own preferences. I rated this report, but not AP-tak's. Some raters (myself included), have an affinity for well-done pictures. I think I actually tend to be harsh to text-only reports (but I like sparse pictured ones a lot). YRM gave one of my text-only reports a 10. Odd, eh?

In any case, why didn't anyone comment on my 2-island lose-the-main strat for Toss against 2-hatch hydras?

Nice report.
I personally think pictures blow. Usually I type in www.br.com/viewreports.php?gametype=all&indexnum=(random number divisible by 25)
I have loaded tons of reports which ask me to look at pictures, yet there are none. All I see is the little x where a pic should be. Pictures tend to be an excuse so that people do not have to write with detail.

Rating is nice, I usually read reports that are 6+ unless the title sounds particularly intriguing.
But all this argument about bias is lame, cuz it is a report on a starcraft match. You are missing the forest for the trees, we are not here to be concerned about the rating but to read a report on a starcraft battle.

The only reason I started reading br's was to learn strats from other people. Now I read some because they are interesting, which is why I love heartcutter's, bob the newt's, and anyone else who inserts humor into their reports.

My point is, the rating doesn't really matter, as long as you get something out of the report and enjoy yourself.

People often associated my reports with pretty pictures or captions, but I spent the lions share of the time on the accuracy and writing of the report itself on those reports which scored me higher than a 9.5.

Like Mark4, I try to throw in cool tactics, like FLS's one hydra scarab diversion or Heartcutter's medic/scv battlecruiser restore and repair team...

Every time I read an AQD3 report, I know I'm going to learn a new tactic that I'll never be able to remember to use very well. Of course, Mark4 is better known for teaching tactics than I am because he's a better player and has more solid ground to stand on when he makes a statement.

I also like these reports because they go back to the basics of the best reports of last spring and early summer. It's nice not to have to read a 48 picture novel of an 8 way 4 team FFA roundtable game on a special 9 player observer version of P Isles. These are a nice changeup.

thoughts about fighting two hatch hydras? When exactly should I transition from
zealot to dragoons, or should I keep one gate on zealots and use another for
dragoons

Reaverz are great for ground combat. I find most zerg playerz will either be all mutaz and air or all lingz and hydraz. A few reaverz and zealotz can hold off a suprisingly large amount of Hydraz.. especially if the Reaverz are SEPERATED and aim for diff targetz. Of course you can guess wrong and he may go air. Then you go "gg" or hope you have a few goonz and cannonz and go air too. Now... "MY" suggestion against zerg is to get templar and dark archon ! Yes the red dude. Most people will "see" the red dark archon and say... "are you going to mind control a single Hydra - bleh." NO! You research storm and maelstorm. Psi storm for the templar. Maelstorm is a mostly unused and little understood dark archon spell. It will "freeze" a small group of organic unitz (like zerg) for a few moments. Unlike stasis, they can be hurt! So if you "freeze" them then storm them... poof no more unitz. If he goes air... the air unitz can moveout of the way of the storm and usually not get itz full effect, but with maelstorm they can tay there for 2 psi storms!!! Zerg unitz will die by the swarmful !!! This requirez alot of micro

P.S. someone wrote...
Stories are judged by:

50% writing of the story
25% flow of the story
15% Pictures or graphics
10% participants game play (Are they good players or not)

or similar, I just want to know how raters judge the reports.

Thanks

I DO NOT THINK YOU SHOULD have set critieria... if you do you will stifle creativity

Nice thought about DarkArchons... theoretically, with just darktemplar, darkarchons, archons and templare with storm, you could beat every zerg unit, including the ultralisk with mindcontrol... however, storm doesn't come en mass early enough to hold off early mass hydra, or if it does, it's barely, and you are contained.

DarkArchons as support would come even later than storm.

As far as criteria, I tend to reward authors who write to their strengths. If Bob_the_Newt makes a good style out of tons of simple pictures and captions with a good story, great, that's his strong area. Praetor is a strong text writer, as is Dev... Annie47 writes some cool stories that aren't far of Praetor's in quality... Nobody and Eggfoo have strong graphics... and Mark4 has strong informative writing, backed up by solid play. If Mark4 tried to do a graphics heavy, fancy-ass piece on his own, I'd shoot it down... If I came in here with, "how YourRoleModel teaches you how to play Starcraft" that wouldn't have much merit either. It's not that Mark can't do graphics and I can't provide gaming insights, but each of us focuses on our strengths. Johnny and Mark don't rate their own or each other's reports, and I stand by my rating this an 8.

Whoop would have given this a 7. By his perspective, he has far less to learn from this report, so might find it less enjoyable. Still 7 and 8 aren't WORLDS apart.

I could see a fuss if people rated this a 10 or a 4, but not anything between 6 and 8. Mark4 doesn't set rating criteria either, he just makes sure the raters are quality people with top reports or top play and that they rate often and responsibly... or, at least, as much as you can hope for people who help the site purely for fun and enjoyment on a regular basis... OUR RATERS.

And I'll add a comment that you really shouldn't worry about what rating your report gets anyways. Yeah.. it's nice to get a 9.. or maybe get the elusive 10, or maybe just get a gold, but...

For me personally I know that some people enjoy reading my reports, and that's all that matters to me. It isn't time wasted. The rating isn't why I do it, and I encourage others to have that viewpoint as well. I think that if you do it solely to see what rating you're going to get, or are so concerned about the rating you're going to get -- it's going to feel like work!

And while I've written 14 (I think) reports now, not one of them has felt like work to me.

Just my 3 cents. (inflation you know)

hey man, i read the report, and i have to say nice job, but your build needs a little work. Never ever make 2 gates that late and consecutively v random. Here is my build.

8 pylon
scout with 9th probe
10 gate
12 pylon
start pumping lots out of your one gate.
here you should see your opponent, if i saw what you saw which is lings/hatch/extractor going, i probably would make a forge and attempt a cannon/lot expand because he is not expanding and if i get an expo going, then hes done. I recently played someone who went 2 hatch hydra, and i raped them using this. Al beit, i am a starcraft player, but its not that hard to change to a brood war strategy, gl in protoss v zerg, which is my fav matchup.

Hmmm mark I'd appreciate a response to the post above as I'm struggling to learn toss v zerg early game (I mean who can't fux0ring win late game vs zerg as toss !) The above build is what I usually use until I've scouted and I think it's what I should be using vs. zerg. Can you please point out the particular strengths and weaknesses of each build? That would be a great help...

All u have to do to wni this is 1 gate push to 24 probes then quick expo. Mayard 8 probes over go back and drop 1 gate
train probe
3rd gate
then forge gas ( probes building outa both bases)
keep cranking z's
attack upgrade and push to like 7 gates of all z's (speedy cy core in there someplace)

carful recon will make sure he doens't go muts if he does drop a few cannons back and go goons.

If he lurks, use goons to block the way u'll lose a few but.. drop a few cannons @ door and go obs'

hope that helps

I don't doubt that Mark4 is a good player. His report is very detailed and he conveys the game progress very well. That, I give credit.

However, the way he presents his game makes me feel that his strats are largely cheesy. (this is a personal opinion). I mean, it's so typical (Zealot scare - Goon Micro - DT buying time - HTs to secure & raze expansion - Macro to mop up). Big deal.....

Sometimes it looks cheesier because of opponents not being up to his caliber. And I read this often in Mark4's report.. Good game is one where games are closely fought all throughout the game... and how can you have a good report without a good game?

When he secured Dragoon/HT containment, the game was over. I would not have made big fuss out of perfect Psi raids that happened afterward. The game's won. I also wouldn't make picky remarks on who to match on ladder and under what circumstances etc etc.. His standard policy of doing rematch in ladder (as mentioned in last report vs Probe) just buggs me.. A policy to play ladder ??? (BTW it's hard not to land a perfect Psi storm on Peon line.)

By the way, why does no one reports lost games ?? (Guess it's obvious but still I think there're lots to share in a game where it went close but lost)
