Yes, before the complaints start, it was a one-sided battle. Tough. If you guys want to show me an even-sided 1v1, I'll BR an even sided 1v1. I haven't seen one yet.

C'moooooooon #5.... Good report. Too bad I read EFY's first.. =(

Anyway it was kinda one-sided, but an attempt is an attempt. This happened to be a good one. Nice animations btw. The mission briefing was a nice touch.

Nice report. This deserves at least an 8 for that animated gif. That's a lot of frames and it's so smooth. My biggest was like 20 frames excluding minimaps i've done.

Good report.

Awaiting your next report executor!

Purely AWESOME gif...

I think you tried to do too much with the background. The background should be recognizable, but then the reader should be able to focus on the text. I'd recommend going even darker on your purple... there should only be about a 5% variation so that it doesn't "fight" with the text.

You have an interesting writing style. Keep posting.

#9 IceShadow (129.89.126.92)[16328]
That's why I love using images from my own site. I can edit that background and make it darker (done) and repost it to my site, and suddenly, the background of my report is darker. :)

Ice (this one 7.5 the other 8.2? images = lower rating?) Shadow

Maybe different people rated it Ice...

I reread this, it's a bit easier to see I think (couldn't remember how much it's changed... but seemed a little better)

I liked this style of writing very much. It's a whole report done diary style... you shudda done one on that second game we played on temple. I was happy to get a chance to practice my dragoon vs zealot micro that game. Silent Strike and AQD3 are right, a small number of dragoons can hold off a larger number of zealots pretty well if you keep them rotating.

This animated gif is even better than Bob's animated gif of the marines taking down sunkens. I wonder how long it would take to load on a dialup connection.

#11 AnderKryst (edjproxy2.edwardjones.com)[16343]
YRM: Takes a while to load up the well written, picture intense reports on a silly-dial up...I think the last YRM report took about 5 minutes for my home account..it didn't help I was doing other things though I would think :P

When I made the GIF, the computer told me it would take about five minutes on a 28.8. I figured for the only animated pic in the whole report, it was worth it..and you had to scroll down to it anyway, which gave it some time to load. Near the top, it might've sucked.

Oh...and I'm not good enough at either SC or BR'ing to report a game I play in. I can't hit that PRTSCN key as I'm micro'ing... :/

I agree with you IceShadow... the reason I was wondering wasn't a gripe. I was thinking if I should start putting more frames in my gifs...

I know my reports take from 2-4 minutes to DL on a dialup, and I try not to exceed that, but this GIF really rocked. I sent an e-mail to Hone (at SC.org) about it and a few of these other reports. Dunno if it'll get frontpage press there like Bob's, because we've had 2 in 2 days, but at least you'd be a top contender to referee one of those tournement matches.

I'm sure Mark4 would recommend you to Hone, and I already did, so... just show interest and you're probably in. =)

Of course, if you can't... you can't. No big deal.

*blink* *blink* *rereads YRM's post*

Erm...uh...wow...That kinda reminds me of the time I gave a song I'd composed to my university choral teacher...just fer fun...and now the men of the choir are singing it in April, with Doc wanting to send it off to a publisher...

To be quite honest, I'm not entirely sure what's being offered. :P Refereeing neato tourneys to write kickass BR's, yes? Recognition on SC.org? Neat. Nothing I ever planned on, but I'm sure it would fit into my schedule.

Wow. Two weeks here and already getting this sorta attention? Kick ass. =)

Nothing's certain... just that Hone wants Mark4 to recommend people. Your stuff is pretty good, e-mail Mark4 if interested... it doesn't mean for sure that everyone who wants to do it will, it just means you'd have a good shot at it.

See credits page for email.

Can anyone tell me why people with firewalls can't read my page? Thanks.

#19 IceShadow (129.89.126.92)[16428]
It's not firewalls. It's Netscape. Apparently, IE is a bit more robust than Netscape is, and handles the table code better. I must've left something out...if Johnny or YRM want to take a look, feel free. Otherwise, whatever. :P

This was a great report despite bieng one-sided. IMHO more description and fewer pictures suites this sort of story-like BR well. A few more details here and there would have really added though. I hate it when time seems to slip away in a BR, though maybe thats just my way of reading. Id suggest more comments by the protoss commander on the developement of the zerg and possible tactics the zerg might adopt.

Oh yeah. And calling a robotic worker 'valient' in a report like this is kinda cheesy. Sorry.
#22 IceShadow (129.89.126.92)[16512]
Heh. Ever play the single-player levels? Protoss can get damned cheesy sometimes.

Thanks for your other suggestions, though. It's kinda hard to think of filler when nothing happens for five minutes...maybe thoughts on the possible tactics of the opponent would be good, especially if it's not a "first-time" encounter (like my first BR).
