First off, report on a better game =). My writing career started with a silver, and then possibly only because the game was awesome. Not that every report has to be on a blockbuster, but at least a mildly interesting game with strategy. If you can't think of something good that goes in the now-ubiquitious 'lessons learned' category, that's a bad sign. In a good game, look for things that just make you say 'wow.' This can be as simple as a patrolling zergling who can check 5 expansion slots on temple, or as extraordinary as a stasis war between arbiter-supported fleets.
Don't you hate it when BOTH fleets can only stare at each other?
Also, put in detail. When I reread my reports (which is surprisingly fun), I can see the whole game again. Battlereports.com is great just from the fact it lets me remember all these AWESOME games I've played. Lastly, use a style. I have a relatively consistent one, putting a mild emphasis on placing the battle in the StarCraft world (excluding Phoenix Legion, of course), but more extreme styles, such as Egg-foo Youngs work too. |

| Well I would report on a better game, but I can never get the people with high ladder records to play each other, even in melee games. I just look for people in channels with high records but they almost never want to play. Almost as if they are savoring their high records. Oh well. I suppose about all I can do is keep on looking. Hehe. =) |

After reading this... It just makes me itch to write up my game of 2 v 2 against Dinodin and a noname (j/k). It's more cheese stuff, but it's good.
Anyway, decent report of a short game. Get a cool game to report, and you're in the gold. |
